From June 24 to July 8, 2025, a group of Ukrainian Scouts from Plast set off on an unforgettable international adventure to Lithuania. Their main destination was the international scout camp “Trikojis” in Similgalia, organized by our long-time friends and partners, Plungės skautai.
This two-week journey became more than just a scout camp — it was a powerful experience of international scouting friendship, personal growth, and cultural discovery.
A Camp of Brotherhood and Learning
At “Trikojis”, scouts from Ukraine joined their Lithuanian peers in outdoor challenges, team-building games, and leadership workshops. Days were filled with campfires, hiking trails, and creative projects that embodied the true spirit of world scouting.
Beyond skills and activities, the camp fostered deep connections — proving that scouting is a global movement united by shared values of service, friendship, and adventure.
Discovering the Beauty of Lithuania
Before and after the camp, the Ukrainian scouts explored the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of Lithuania. They visited historical landmarks, connected with local communities, and experienced the warmth and hospitality that define Lithuanian scouting.
Grateful for Every Helping Hand
This unforgettable journey would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners and friends:
Plungės skautai, especially Žydrūnas Pilitauskas and Kristina Pilitauskienė, for your hospitality, care, and flawless organization both in and out of camp.
Sergas Staponkus, for your continuous communication, help, and coordination in the months leading up to the camp.
Camp leader Virginijus Ruškys and Quartermaster Tadas R. Gečas, for your warm welcome and the joy of shared scouting days.
Mr. Andrius Klišonis, Mayor of Plungė District Municipality, and Mr. Dalius Pečiulis, Director of the Administration — for your kind reception and generous financial support of our scouts.
Velykoberezovytsia Village Council and its head Andrii Halaiko, for helping make this journey possible for children from our community.
And special thanks to the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization – USA for your ongoing support and belief in the mission of Ukrainian Scouting.
Building Bridges Through Scouting
This trip was not just a summer camp — it was a reminder that scouting unites young people across borders, inspiring them to lead, serve, and create a better world together.
Through friendship, teamwork, and adventure, Ukrainian and Lithuanian scouts proved once again that the spirit of scouting knows no borders.
