Orbis 2025: Plast represented Ukraine at the International Scout Camp in Finland

Plast – Ukrainian Scouting had the honour of representing Ukraine at Orbis 2025, a large-scale international scout camp organized by the Scouts of Finland. The event brought together 1,700 young people, leaders, and volunteers for a week of outdoor adventure, cultural exchange, and global friendship.

A Week of Adventure and Learning

The atmosphere at Orbis 2025 went far beyond tents beneath the pines. What truly united everyone was a shared spirit of exploration and meaningful experiences. Participants enjoyed:

• 🌊 Paddling on Finland’s serene lakes
• 🎒 Hiking through wild, breathtaking northern landscapes
• 🧭 Teamwork-based challenges that built resilience and trust
• 🎨 Creative workshops exploring cultures and scouting traditions
• 🔥 Evenings around the campfire, singing in many languages

These moments created a powerful sense of unity among scouts from across continents.

Sharing Ukrainian Culture at Orbis 2025

One of the highlights for our team was hosting a Ukrainian culture workshop. We introduced international scouts to:

• traditional Ukrainian dances and songs,
• symbols and elements of national heritage,
• language basics and scout traditions,
• Ukrainian treats,
• and the unique spirit of Plast – Ukrainian Scouting.

For many participants, this was their first encounter with Ukrainian culture — and it quickly became one of the most memorable sessions at the camp.

People Who Made the Journey Special

On the way to Finland, we met exceptional individuals who enriched our experience:

• Anatoliy Kuzmych Liutyuk, a Ukrainian cultural leader in Estonia who welcomed our group in Tallinn,
• Volodymyr Ivanytskyi, Head of Plast in Latvia,
• Mr. Andrii, our passionate tour guide, who brought Baltic history to life for the team.

Throughout the trip, we also relied on freeze-dried meals from Yidlo — nutritious, tasty, and perfect for any outdoor adventure.
