Plast – the National Scout Organization of Ukraine – recently welcomed a delegation from the Ring Deutscher Pfadfinderinnen- und Pfadfinderverbände (rdp), the German Scout and Guides Federation, to the Plast Youth Center in Zhytomyr.
During the meeting, Ukrainian scouts and German scouts shared their scouting experiences, played team-building games, and discussed the importance of youth development through international scout cooperation. Johannes Schafeldt, a representative of the German Youth Council, presented Plast members with symbolic scouting gifts: a scarf, a hoop, and a badge – as a sign of friendship and mutual respect between the two organizations.
The Plast youth center in Zhytomyr is part of a growing network of scout centers in Ukraine, where children and teenagers engage in outdoor education, learn survival skills, and participate in camps that promote leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.
We sincerely thank the Scouts of Dortmund for their support, solidarity, and warm visit! Such meetings help strengthen the ties between scouting organizations in Europe and promote the values of unity, peace, and youth empowerment.
