Ukrainian scouts met with Catholic scouts from DPSG Marburg!
The event took place as part of the 2 Weeks Without War camp, which is attended by children whose parents are missing or killed in the russian-Ukrainian war.
Together, the scouts of Marburg and Plast members played traditional Ukrainian games, shared their experience of living in nature, and roasted marshmallows while having friendly conversations.
The day ended with an atmospheric bonfire where the children sang German and Ukrainian songs. The Plast members also told locals about one of the most important traditions – “sirinnia”, when everyone in the circle holds hands and wishes each other a good night.
We are grateful to the Catholic Scouts of Marburg for their hospitality and the opportunity to share experiences in a safe environment for Ukrainian children.
We hope to meet again and inspire each other by our shared experience!
