The Peace Light ceremony in Kyiv

Carrying the Light and warming hearts along the way

Today, hundreds of people gathered in Kyiv to take part in the Sharing of the Bethlehem Light of Peace.

Every year, as Christmas approaches, Scouts across the world share this Flame of love and goodwill in their own countries

In Ukraine, this tradition is carried on by Plast Ukrainian Scouts, and this year once again we are passing the Light to everyone who wishes to bring it into their homes, share it with loved ones, and offer it to those who need it most.

The Light — a symbol of hope and kindness — warms thousands of hearts around the world and reminds us that goodness always overcomes evil, and that light will forever outshine the darkness.

Representatives from cities across Ukraine have all received the Light.

Now it continues its journey throughout the country, spreading its warmth and goodness to everyone who needs it.
